Health Status

The Finnish national health program for pigs has been in place since 1983. The Association for Animal Disease Prevention ETT was established in 1994. ETT maintains the country-wide pig health classification register called SIKAVA which is based on a continuing monitoring system and health examination results.

Every Karelia Hybrid pig farm is on the highest SIKAVA health status level known as the Finnish SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) program. Thanks to the program Finland is entirely free from the following animal disease:
